Brian K. Marchman, Ph.D. serves as Assistant Provost and the Director of Distance & Continuing Education (DCE) at the University of Florida. As the Director of DCE, a unit in the Associate Provost’s Office for Teaching & Technology, Dr. Marchman is responsible for online course production, Distance Learning program and student support, UF Flexible Learning, UF online Dual Enrollment, the TREEO Center, as well as non-credit Professional Development, Executive Education, and Conferences. Dr. Marchman is a proud four-time graduate of the University of Florida. He earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science, M.Ed. in Social Science Education, Ed.S. and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, each from UF. He also holds a UF graduate certificate in Managing Distance Education Environments. In addition, Dr. Marchman completed post-doctoral work in a certificate program at Harvard University’s Graduate School.
Andy joined the University of Florida in 1999 and has over twenty-five years of conference and special event planning experience. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Real Estate from the University of South Carolina in 1987 and a Master of Arts in Homeland Security from American Military University in 2012.
Andy served twenty-seven years in the United States Navy, serving on various ships and shore assignments. Since 1996, he served in the Coastal Riverine Force providing anti-terrorism force protection for forward deployed ships in the Middle East. Andy made multiple deployments following the September 11, 2001 attacks and retired as a Captain in 2015.
He earned his Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification in 2007 and his Certified Meeting Manager (CMM) certification in 2015. Andy is an active member in Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and served as President for the 2014-2016 term with the Central Florida Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP).
Andy has been a diehard Miami Dolphins fan since 1972 and enjoys going to sporting events, traveling, and spending time with family.
Carol is responsible for all administrative, financial, promotional and programming areas at UF/TREEO. She handles all administrative functions for FlaWARN including deploying to the EOC during an emergency. She has been employed at UF/TREEO for more than 20 years and involved with FlaWARN from its inception.
She is the Vice President of the Florida Section American Water Resources Association, a member of the leadership team for Florida Section American Water Works Association Region XI, a member of the Utility Management Committee of Florida Water Environment Association and the Water Environment Foundation Utility Management Committee. She is also a member of the Green Meeting Industry Council, Society of Government Meeting Professionals and served as vice chair for the communication committee for the APEX green meetings standards panel that is tasked with setting standards for green meetings for the US EPA.
